Beartown Zodiac

On the 15th March Bournemouth 4 piece band Beartown Zodiac release their debut album called “Star Map Home”. It is a delightful mix of quirky indie tunes with nice injections of modern folk and infectious hooks. The 11 track album features some really great quality song writing taking on a host diverse subjects. The songs are mostly written by founder member David Bird-Hawkins who gets motivation for his songs from looking at newspaper headlines amongst other things.

The band use a cross section of electric and acoustic guitars coupled with Alison’s Violin along with synthesisers to create a unique easy to listen to sound. Beartown Zodiac have released the album with help of the local Bournemouth record label The Burrow which also have released music by other local bands Powdered Cows, Not Made In China, Minor Characters, Jokes (The Band) and Plates.

The four band members are a very dedicated lot, you also can find both Tiff and Matthew performing in at least three other bands as well as various other musical activities.
