Music at Dorchester Corn Exchange on Friday 20th April

The Skimmity Hitchers

Cider-swillin’ reprobates Skimmity Hitchers return to Dorchester Corn Exchange on Friday 20th April for a night of live music and general wild fun. Hugely popular in the West Country for their humorous and high-energy take on the Scrumpy & Western genre, the 4 boys will be taking over town with their blend of razor-sharp parodies and home-pressed original material, no doubt with a few surprises and a dancing badger thrown in for good measure.

The Hitcher’s Corn Exchange gig has become something of a yearly tradition, bringing in large numbers of people from the local area and further afield. Alongside the attraction of seeing the band in their natural environment, the quality of the supporting line-up has become a major feature of the night. This year sees folk-rock festival favourites Imprints and local punk youngsters Sinful Maggie doing the business, ahead of big summer festival appearances in the South West and beyond.

The Skimmity Hitchers

Now in their eighth year, Skimmity Hitchers continue to attract a growing following based on their unique live show and love for the West Country about which they sing.

Frontman Tatty Smart said: “Everyone knows that Dorchester is the beating heart of the Skimmity Hitchers experience. Our previous Corn Exchange gigs have been a massive success and we’re planning to make it another memorable night in April. Lock up your badgers and come join the fun!”
