Beer and Bluegrass

After a packed “sell out” Festival last year Beer and Bluegrass returns for its 5th birthday and this year there are no fewer than seven American and Irish top quality Bluegrass and American acts on the bill. Ideally situated between the towns of Poole and Bournemouth and only minutes away from the finest beaches in the UK with easy transport links including nearby Branksome Rail Station.

Line-up includes Southern Californian legends I See Hawks in LA, Rachel Harrington, Mountain Firework Company, Massey Ferguson, Local Honeys, Bog Standard Stringband, Resonant Rogues, JD Hobson, Gwenifer Raymond, Orange Circus, Death and The Dancer and Mishra.

Many of these artists will join together on stage, singing and playing “Bluegrass Style” around a single microphone to close each evening. The results are breathtakingly unique, adding a very special atmosphere to the Festival. The Festival is set in the secluded grounds of Victoria School with the main stage set within a natural amphitheatre, surrounded by woodland and with the stunning “Claremont” a Victorian convent in the background.

If the packed musical line up were not enough there is a Real Ale and Cider Festival, with a handpicked selection of the very best of Real Ales and Ciders from the top craft brewers across the British Isles. If you are feeling hungry, there are homemade Burgers and Sausages from local Butcher, Keatings on Friday. Saturday sees the return of the Double Hog Roast from our Somerset Farmers and on both days there is home cooked Vegetarian Chilli. So no need to bring the Hamper!
