The Strangers Club

South Coast 4-piece band The Strangers Club continue with the string of single releases with new single ‘Catching Fire’, a poetically-driven song riddled with passion and empowerment. Frontman George Aquilla Hardy explains “it begins at the point of accepting hopelessness, then moves into disobedience, and rising towards outright defiance; breaking your chains and running for it”, whilst belting in the chorus “When I run, I will get away, from the slack that’s in the chain!”.

The Strangers Club

“Catching Fire” is the band’s most ambitious creation to date, it was recorded in conjunction with Jordan Ayriss at Ayriss Productions in Dorset. The track smoothly guides us through with uplifting effect-fed melodic guitars; coupled with subtle rhythms and atmospheric synths, along with George’s mellifluous vocal. The song really uplifts around a quarter of the way through with a beautifully climactic conclusion, where all the elements positively come together. It’s been a pleasure to see this new band experimenting with their sound over the last couple of recordings, with both the singles “Suede” and “Hive” showing off very different elements of the band’s capabilities.
