The Hype Theory

On 10th October 2011, The Hype Theory finally surfaced after releasing their debut album “Glory Days”. The flamboyant four piece, led by feisty front girl Katy Jackson have been showing some killer potential recently with positive feedback flowing in their direction following the release of their first single “Kids At Heart” back in August. The success following the release of this single gained them plays on Kerrang! TV and Radio as well as Scuzz TV, which in turn helped them secure slots at festivals such as Download, Sonisphere and T in The Park.

In Fez by El BosCO

The man with the infectious smile from Discos Out(Murders In) Steve Perry has a new project with his fellow bands members Ed and Giles. They have been hard at work in their garage with the help of Steve Potatoes (Safari Park/Skjitanja) recording some brand new tracks that can be heard on the new three track EP ‘In Fez’, the EP is being given away free on their Band Camp web site(See Below). The style is quite a departure from Discos Out (Murders In) style, you can expect to hear grungy rifts with some middle eastern influence, the ‘In Fez’ name gives you the feeling the someone has had a brief holiday in Morocco and brought back some of the flavours of this exotic country injecting some of it’s mystic.

It’s Wednesday night at Champions and four local acts of differing elements of rock are here to display their wares. First up are Ordering Chaos. Four young chaps on what is only their 2nd gig, and it shows. Yes they can play, it’s just all a little scattered. Chaotic though it isn’t.

The Darkness

Following the triumphant intimate warm-up shows at Shepherd’s Bush Empire and the famous 100 Club (the roof of Shepherd’s Bush Empire was reportedly eventually found floating in Chelsea Harbour in the early hours of the morning), and the band’s full-blown main stage ‘comeback’ show at this year’s Download Festival, The Darkness made their return to touring with an extensive UK tour in November, this included a show a Southampton Guildhall.

KMFDM

Tonight saw industrial rock giants KMFDM playing at a smaller than usual venue. Having seen them a few times at larger venues around London, to have them playing almost on the doorstep of Rock Regeneration was sure to be something special. The stage was framed with two banners showing “Symbols”, harking back to the 1997 album of the same name, interesting as the new album this year is “WTF!?”.
