Including A Date At The O2 Academy In Bournemouth

Lewis Capaldi

Today, Lewis Capaldi announces his largest UK tour to date, no mean feat considering the young scot released his debut EP mere months ago. Commencing in October the tour culminates with a show at London’s historic O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Capaldi, aged just 21, grew up in the small town of Bathgate, outside of Glasgow. He picked-up the guitar at age nine and started writing songs shortly after. By the age of just 12, he began sneaking into pubs around Glasgow, honing his craft playing impromptu sets anywhere he could find an audience. Fast-Forward to the end of 2017 to see the release of his debut EP ëBloomí.

In less than 6 months Capaldi had announced and sold out 3 headline tours back-to-back, many of the shows selling out in seconds, his ravenous fanbase relentlessly outstripping the availability of tickets. Summer sees Capaldi head out on a series of global festival appearances including TRNSMT, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, LaureLive, Firefly & the newly announced Reading/Leeds Festival slot. Furthermore, Capaldi has been announced as main support to Sam Smith across 19 Europe dates. He summarises this perfectly by explaining “My hometown of Bathgate’s population is roughly 20,000 & that’s close to the number of people I’ll be playing to with Sam Smith each night in Europe. Pure madness!”
