Palms & Pelicans

Formed in 2012, Palms and Pelicans are a 4-piece female and male fronted band from Hordle in the New Forest. Founded by Jack (guitar/vocals) and Mattea (guitar/vocals) who were childhood friends and have been writing and recording music for well over 10 years. The two have created a perfect chemistry between them from which to create music. After adding the talented rhythm section of Daryl and Darren this four-piece as a band have started to make music connoisseurs take notice. They have so far had tracks from both their releases played on BBC Introducing several times.

The band have recently released their second four track E.P “Sungaze”. The recording features a clear progression from their debut EP “Float. They have obviously worked hard capturing the right harmonies and guitars, to create some unique tunes that clearly make the band stand out from the crowd. The opening title track “Sungaze” shows a much more mature sound with the gentle, dual guitars and well put together girl/boy vocals fulfilling everything needed to catch the listenerís attention.

Palms & Pelicans

One of their finest moments is the beautiful “Unbelievable”; a track that just flows along so well, with a chorus that has a hook which will easily reel you in after just a few listens. “Turn You Back” is a little more pronounced and slightly more upbeat without losing the band’s idyllic concept. The final track “Walls”, though not as strong as the 1st three; shows the band experimenting with a slightly different lo-fi guitar sound, with those still perfect vocals in place. Palms and Pelicans have many of the right ingredients needed to reach out into the world of music and make people listen to their alluring sound.
