Bournemouth’s four-piece rock outfit, Capulus have produced its first single following the release of their debut EP “We Are What You Made Us”, which came out late last year. “The Crowd” is written from an external perspective, the following somebody through their attempts at making video shorts in the hope of finding stardom. Lead singer and founding member Joshua Vaughan commented that “as the song progresses, we learn that the individual has dropped everything from their home life to move to California, in the hope that they can pursue this dream. All of which is falling back on a lack of skills or talent”. Capulus seek to invoke a variety of emotions painted with both personal experiences and observations from the modern world around them.

The band headed over to the prestigious studio, The Ranch in Southampton, where they breathed light into their new creation. Guitarist Tom Riley added that “the song itself was born relatively quickly – with the main riff coming from a quick jam at band practice. It was a really exciting process for this track – as each of the pieces seemed to naturally fall into place, one after the other”.

The song has an upbeat energy throughout with an opening barrage of twin melodic guitars, alongside some powerful infectious work from the band’s all new rhythm section of Joey Curd (drums) and Ethan Wilkinson (bass). Joshua Vaughan’s impressive emotive vocal stands tall and proud, dramatically expressing the lyrical perspective on the song’s subject matter. This euphoric piece sees the band continue to push forward striving to create their own original sound. Despite a few diversions in their path the band continue to deliver quality music that will certainly get them noticed on the live music circuit.
