Award-winning Bournemouth singer-songwriter Millie Watson is set to release a raw, soul-baring single “Troubles” out May 22nd on all major platforms. Along with a music video directed by the marvellous Martin Goodsmith. This isn’t just another sad song — it’s one of those that sneaks up on you. Gentle, honest, and totally unafraid to sit with the raw emotions that come with a relationship ending.
It was recorded at the one and only Hangover Hill Studios, Where Matt Black and Millie collaborated to achieve an organic, and meaningful piece. letting the track breathe into its own space. Nothing rushed. Nothing over-polished. Just real.
At its heart, “All We Have Left” is a goodbye song — the kind that only comes when love has slipped through your hands and you’re left with nothing but memories and acceptance. With lyrics like “you’ll meet somebody and maybe she’ll love you well, and I’ll be a story you tell”.
Millie captures the essence of letting go with dignity. It’s tender, grown-up, and devastating in the most beautiful way. “I wrote this as a sort of closure I suppose. It was the final goodbye gesture before letting go and moving on. Millie says. “Some songs just burst right out of you because that’s what you need, and this was one of those”
“Troubles” is a glimpse into Millie’s upcoming album, due July 8th— a body of work she’s poured everything into over the last 2 years. If this track is anything to go by, the album’s going to hurt in the best possible way.
