When you call your band “Shit” you are just asking for trouble, just imagine it, they have played a stormer of a set and have just left the stage, the audience are demanding encore…what do they shout “Shit Shit Shit”, you can take that one of two ways. Well actually there is a band called “Shit”, and they hail for the seaside town of Poole and you just might know the founder member….Yes it’s local face Bert Brunell who does a Stirling job putting on fine bands at Mr Kyps, surrounded by all this fine music you think Bert would have some great influences to draw on and would make a fine member of any band…………….
Well in fact he can’t, he is “Shit” he cannot play, he cannot sing, and he most definitely cannot write any quality songs…..he just writes “Shit Ones”.
The band have released well I say released, it’s more have recorded on shoddy quality recording equipment and put out on dodgy MP3’s two albums worth of “Shit” material, the first is a five track affair called “You Can’t Polish a Turd” (and indeed you cannot have you ever tried it ? Get some Lemon Pledge and a duster and see what mess you make) and the 2nd called “The Greatest Shits”. Now what every you do if you manage to get your hands on these limited edition releases, don’t play any of them to any children or your Grandmother. The songs are very offensive and obscene, but will have you in stitches of laughter as you tap your foot along to the annoyingly infectious sing-a-long choruses.The band use a selection of ukulele’s, acoustic/electric guitars, double bass & drums to create their very original “Shit” with sound songs such as “Poo Piss Bum Willy Tit Wank”, “The Rape Song” and “Suck ‘n’ Blow” will have you reeling for ear protectors as they are so bad they are good.
“Shit” have decided to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee in style with a gig to mark the occasion on the 4th June at On The Rocks in Bournemouth, sadly none of the Royal Family will be able to attend as they have all pretended that they are busy that weekend, I understand that Prince Charles is a big shit fan, he and Camilla always have “Shit” on in the car on the way to Royal appointments. The evening falls on Bank Holiday Monday and the great news is that everyone has the Tuesday off as it is also a Bank Holiday…..a bit weird but it is true check your calendars!!. As well as the “Shit” music the other reason to go along is that “Shit” will be giving away free Vodka Jelly…….yes you read it correctly FREE VODKA JELLY!!!! “Shit” have a Vodka Jelly mine somewhere out in a secret location near Wareham, under the dead on night Bert and Craig will be filling up the “Shit mobile” with lots of the lovely stuff to give away to their “Shit” fans. So if you fancy a bit of “Shit” get down to On The Rocks on the 4th June for a night you will never forget and quite possibly never remember.
