Vampire Weekend will play two special Glastonbury warm-up shows on the south coast at Portsmouth Guildhall 28th June and also at Bournemouth O2 Academy 27th June. Tickets are priced at just £20 and go on sale on the 26th April at 9am here

The band are all set to release their new album ‘Modern Vampires of the city’ on the 13th May on XL Receodings,one week later than originally announced due to unanticipated delays in the production of the physical copies of the record. The new date ensures that CDs and vinyl will be in stores on release day. The band have all worked very hard on this record and promise it will be worth the wait.”.

On March 18, 2013, Vampire Weekend released a double A-side single, “Diane Young/Step” which both appear on the album and the videos to accompany the singles can be seen below. The title of the album is a reference to the opening lyric of the Reggae song “One Blood” by Junior Reed. The cover art is a 1966 photograph by Neal Boenzi of the smoggiest day in New York City history, on which the air pollution killed at least 169 people.
