Matthew North

Matthew North is a Musician, Composer & Producer based in the South West of England. He has been Guitarist for jazz legend Mike Westbrook for the last 5 years as well as the founder member of alternative rock band All Living Fear and the founder of the progressive rock band “Secrets for September”.

He has worked with a wide variety of artists including Arthur Brown, Julianne Regan (All About Eve), Jon Hiseman, Roger O’Donnell (The Cure) as well as with members of The Sisters Of Mercy. Matthew has been increasingly working as a solo artist in recent times. His debut album ëStill Thinking, Still Dreamingí was released in 2017 and the summer of 2018 will see his first release on vinyl featuring Emily Dolan Davies (Bryan Ferry, The Darkness, Kim Wild & Howard Jones) on Drums.

Performing live as a solo artist Matthew plays looped guitar and bass pedals, giving a full band sound from one live musician. He has supported a number of named acts including Michael Chapman, Nick Harper, Reeves Gabrels (David Bowie / The Cure), Ruarri Joseph & Stray to name a few.

The new two-track single is available as a digital download and for the first time on 10″ vinyl. It features “Ever After Ever More”; a gently meandering tune that features some fine uplifting lyrical content that spells out the message “We Believe in Love Forever”, along with some impressive electric guitar work. The 2nd track is slower paced – “As I Think about the Time” opens with a rather tasty piece of slide guitar and is a lyrically retrospective look back at the past with positive optimism for the future. It has a nice bluesy feel about it with some Brian Ferry “Jealous Guy” – style whistling towards the end. The single can be purchased at Matthews Bandcamp site here:
