On Saturday, 22nd December, the cream of local talent are joining forces for an Alzheimer’s Research UK fundraiser.
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity and for over 25 years, their scientists have been making life-changing discoveries about the diseases that cause dementia. Alzheimer’s is the leading cause of dementia and itís a disease that no-one has yet survived. But Alzheimer’s and other dementias are physical diseases and with your support, medical research can prevent, treat and one day, cure them. 1 in 5 people in the UK mistakenly believes that dementia is just an inevitable part of getting older. If we start to think differently about dementia and challenge others to join us, we can begin to realise the incredible breakthroughs that are possible through research. Their mission is to bring about the first life-changing dementia treatment by 2025.

This fantastic charity is very close to the heart of organiser/promoter Pete Cole, as both his elderly parents live with this devastating disease. Info on the acts that are giving their time for free: A Very Deep Hole play stomping stadium-rock, shoegazing grunge, and spaced-out melodies. Worthy headliners! Dead Days have an electrifying approach to alternative/rock songwriting, which combined with their unique live performance make them an exciting prospect. Your Idiot Side Kick is a melody-heavy alternative rock band. They condense crashing, fuzzed out guitars, pounding drums and poppy vocals.

Acoustic Messenjaz are fronted by reggae musician I-Jay, who was once frontman of the legendary band Spliff Riff, who were once signed to EMI. Amber Richmond Talented teenager Amber normally fronts indie/pop act The Subtracts, who are hotly tipped for 2019. This is a rare acoustic appearance from her.
