South Coast Folk/Rock Collective Siobhán & The Sunset Haze have been in Ringwood Town’s HP Studios putting together a brand new track entitled “Heartbreak Mistake”. The track was originally written over 10 years, Siobhán brought this song out of the archives to start the new era of her music. She describes “Heartbreak Mistake” “as a rowdy, resentful Folk/Rock song with a hint of Country influence as a nod to her roots. I focused on my first experiences with the painful side of love, filled with teenage angst, but hold a sentiment that transcends any age”. As well as the new release the band are in the process of recording a bunch of new songs to be released gradually over the next year, (also over at HP Music with head Honcho Harrison Perks).
The track is one the band have played live, it comes with great amounts of energy and momentum, a crowd pleaser without doubt. With it’s driving guitar it’s a Rock track with a Folk heart, along with some Punk attitude – more like The Levellers/Ferocious Dog than Fairport Convention! The constant melodic violin, coupled with unshakeable rhythms provide the backdrop while Siobhán powerfully delivers passionate vocals. This example certainly bodes well for the forthcoming future tracks and we look forward to more of the same.
