News: Mega Celebration Four In Honour Of Farnborough’s Finest – Mega City Four!

Blag Promotions Present Mega City Four On Saturday 18th January at Farnborough Football Club
There are millions of bands and artists out there, but only a few can truly leave a mark on you forever. Farnboroughís Mega City 4 is one of those. From 1987-1996 they released 14 singles/EPs and 8 albums. They had amazing pop-punk-rock anthems and toured constantly and almost made it into the big time. Mega City 4’s contemporaries include the Manic Street Preachers, Carter USM, Senseless Things and Neds Atomic Dustbin all of which they gave a ëleg upí to. Frontman Wiz sadly passed away in 2006.

Mega City Four consisted of guitarist and vocalist Wiz, his brother and rhythm guitarist Danny Brown, bassist Gerry Bryant and drummer Chris Jones. According to Uncut magazine, the group “earned a reputation across the globe as an exciting live band”. The band were together for over a decade performing a host of major tours and releasing 8 albums. They broke up in early 1996, however the ripples of their influences continued when British band ‘Muse’ released a cover of the Mega City Four song “Prague”, as a B-side to their single “Resistance” on 22 February 2010. This was dedicated to Wiz, as Muse had been inspired by Mega City Four’s music.

This event is fundraiser for the RSCPA.
