Finalists in last years Dorset Music Awards “Evolver” have just released their much anticipated debut EP entitled “Sci-Fi Queen”. The four piece Bournemouth band describe themselves as progressive rock, but their is certainly more to them than this. Firstly the have amongst them one of the most talented guitarist’s I have ever witnessed on the local music scene. Ed Graves who is completely natural talent that comes alive when he is on stage, in the studio or anytime that he has a guitar in his hands.

Ed has surrounded himself with some really talented musician who together make some seriously good music. The lead track “Sci-Fi Queen” could almost describe their sound as the band’s style could be likened to something somewhere between “Queen” and “Muse”. The piano coupled with original killer guitar rifts and Jordan’s epic haunting vocals make for something quite special. The only disappointing thing is that this is only a four track EP. A full album of such material would be even better than this short offering. If you only ever buy one EP by a local band in your life, please make it this one, the production and the quality of the music is supremely impressive.
