Chris Hopgood/Dave Lambert- Roseflower (Live)

Chris Hopgood guitarist and banjo player for top local live band “Lady Winwood’s Maggot” has recently released a new solo album called “Roseflower” which is quite a departure from the material that you would usually hear him perform with the band.

Music teacher Chris mainly recorded the album in portacabin at the school where he teaches in between lessons, he was helped by fellow ex “Maggot” Dave Lambert who added some harmonies and strings to many of the songs. The songs have a beautiful atmosphere about them and the simple but effective arrangements which really compliments Chris’s impressive vocals, but it’s the lyrics is where this album really excels on songs such as “Old Tom” and the title track “Roseflower” where the lyrics tell a collection of stories creating their own images for the listener. The album shows a completely new and welcome side of Chris that audiences have never seen before.
