Cursus Festival

As spring begins the Fuelled by Cider of the Cursus Music and Cider Festival in Dorset have announced a fantastic line-up for 2018 to brighten up the season with thoughts of lazy summer days.

The three-day festival is being held over the May bank holiday weekend (May 25th – 27th) and will see an outstanding line-up of national, international and local acts entertain the crowd at Canada Farm near Sixpenny Handley. Festival favourites Skinny Lister will be headlining the festival on the Saturday and are a real coup for the Cursus organisers. Drawing comparisons to The Pogues their famously wild live show has seen the band selling out major venues and festivals across the UK, Europe and the USA.

Other highlights for 2018 included renowned singer Gaz Brookfield brings his full band The Company Of Thieves to the party, along with Australian folk-punk sensations The Rumjacks, Dublin festival favourites The Eskies and ska-reggae heavyweights New Town Kings. Being a West Country based festival organisers have also drawn on the cream of the local music scene including Skimmity Hitchers, Black Water County, The Surfin’Birds, Sinful Maggie and The Intercepteurs, all held together by Wimborne’s legendary DJ Dapper Dan.

Festival Organiser Kevin Davis said; “The Cursus Music and Cider Festival is now in its fourth year and has built up an enviable reputation for an intimate, friendly vibe and simple pleasures. Spacious camping, a communal campfire, local food, ciders and ales all compliment the first class music line up, making this a relaxed and sociable gathering in the beautiful surroundings of the Cranborne Chase.”

Children, dogs, tent campers and live-in vehicles are all welcome to join the fun. Adult tickets start at just £55 with big discounts for under 18s and under 5s. Full information including ticket sales can be found at www.cursusfestival.com Town crier and Cursus Festival DJ Chris Brown said: “Without doubt this is the best Cursus line-up so far and we are anticipating an early sell-out. Put the date in your diary and start making plans for your first festival of the summer!”
