The Big Hearted local music entrepreneur Pete Cole once again is bringing together the local music community by organising a charity event to raise funds for the Sophie Lancaster Foundation. The event will take place at the Farnborough Football Club on 28th October from 7pm. It will feature three quality bands Flowers Of Sacrifice with their first gig in over 30 years, The Landings, Harsh Language and Camden Palace’s Feet First Club’s very own DJ Jonathon Trevisick. (and oh myself CHINNERS have been invited to Compere the event and I may for the first time in 30 years get Gothed up!!)

About Sophie Lancaster Foundation:

Stamp Out Prejudice, Hatred And Intolerance Everywhere

Sophie was kicked to death for looking different. She and her boyfriend were creative, artistic people who dressed in their own unique way. They were attacked by a gang of five boys in a park in Bacup, Lancashire on 11 August 2007. The gang attacked Sophie’s boyfriend first and then turned on her, carrying out a brutal and sustained attack. Sophie remained in hospital for 13 days, before following medical advice, the family agreed to life support being switched off. Sophie died on 24 August 2007; she was just 20 years. old. The Sophie Lancaster Foundation is a charity which provides educational groupworks that will challenge the prejudice and intolerance towards people from alternative subcultures. They campaign to have the UK Hate Crime legislation extended to include people from alternative subcultures.
