Mad Simple return with their second single “One Way Road”, the track was also recorded back last year at the same time as their previous single “Playing The Fool” at The Ranch Production House in Southampton, with production duties provided by Kurt Fagan. Frontman Craig explains “Lyrically, the song is about harnessing the power of the moment during fight or flight. The adrenaline may be high during pressure moments in life, but the clarity of thought is needed to make the right decisions. Time can often slow down before life flashes before your eyes.

Originally, the song was very different musically from how it sounds now. Once a calm but groovy guitar riff, the potential was heard from the band and they added the high octane drive and rhythm to make the melodies come alive”.

The band have been busy of late gigging in support of their last release. They have performed at Heartbreakers and an intimate gig at HMV Music Store in Southampton and a home town headlining gig at Chaplin’s Cellar Bar in Bournemouth. “One Way Road” is a 2 minutes 11 seconds shot of musical adrenaline, this four-piece is really beginning to find their stride with their creative juices really flowing.

It starts with a crescendo of melodic guitars; backed by some significantly captivating rhythms, along with Craig’s distinguished vocal delivery. The track certainly fulfils its subject matter by harnessing the power of the moment and in the studio the chemistry between these guys was buoyantly captured. The band are keeping their momentum going with a further live adventure at Hangover Hill’s “Live & Unheard” gig at the Lighthouse on 29th June.
