Single: “Toe The Line” by 7 Hour Drive

Some bands are formed in rehearsal rooms. Others are forged through time, distance, and everything life throws in between. 7 Hour Drive is the sound of unfinished conversations, of years lost and found again, of music that refused to stay silent. Their debut single, “Toe The Line,” isn’t just a first release—it’s a release in every sense of the word.

Thomas “Taff” Salter and Kieran O’Neill first met in the heart of Glasgow’s music scene, playing together in local band Mr Kite. As bass and drums, they didn’t just play—they locked in, building a connection that only musicians truly understand. A shared pulse. A rhythm that felt like it would never fade.

But life had other plans.

In 2008, Taff moved away to Poole, and the noise of the stage gave way to the quiet of everyday life. Years passed. Music became distant. And then, everything changed. After the devastating loss of a stillborn daughter, silence became unbearable. In that silence, music found its way back. Not as performance. Not as ambition. But as survival.

Song writing became a place to put the pain—when words alone were not enough. Every note carried weight. Every idea became a step toward something resembling healing. And then, after nearly twenty years, a message. A reconnection. A spark.

At the beginning of 2026, separated by hundreds of miles but pulled together by something deeper, Taff and Kieran picked up where they never truly left off. The distance—seven hours between Poole and Glasgow—became the very thing that defined them. Ideas travelled back and forth. Late nights turned into early mornings. And almost instantly, it was there again—that unspoken understanding. That groove. That bond that time couldn’t break.

But “Toe The Line” needed an additional voice. That voice came in the form of Hayley McCavitt.
When Hayley stepped into the track, everything shifted. What had been powerful suddenly became complete. Her vocals didn’t just sit on top of the music—they felt it, carrying the emotion, the weight, and the story within every line. Together, the three created something more than a song.

They created a moment.

A collision of past and present. Of grief and release. Of distance and connection.

“Toe The Line” blends driving rock and metal energy with haunting echoes of 80s electronica, but at its core, it’s something far more human. It’s about holding on when everything tells you to let go. About finding your way back when you thought you were lost for good.

7 Hour Drive isn’t just a band. It’s proof that even after years of silence…
some connections never really fade.

And sometimes, the longest journeys are the ones that bring you home.
