Award-winning music producer Bite The Boxer is back with a new single entitled “Venom Test”. The track is taken from the forthcoming album Haunted Remains, Pt2, which will be released on Friday 31st October 2025. After taking nearly a year out since the release of the highly acclaimed YoY, Matt’s music spans IDM, post-rock, ambient, soundtrack and glitch to form a sound that is as intriguing as it is unsettling.
Matt explains “every so often a song will come to you out of the black. I wasn’t expecting to write a new song when Venom Test came about, in fact I was actively taking a break from producing music. I was trying out some new sounds that a friend recommended to me and within about 20 minutes I had the basis for a new song and fell in love with the texture and depth of the sounds I had created. I couldn’t just ignore it, so I went with it and I am so glad I did.”
The Dorset (UK) based music producer creates music that has drawn comparisons to Nine Inch Nails, Massive Attack, Lorn and Snakes of Russia creating a unique sound that could easily see his music featured in films and games within the horror, suspense and post-apocalyptic genre. The all instrumental piece has a eerie feel too and fits the season perfectly with Halloween just around the corner. Since leaving his previous band and starting up with this solo project, Matt has significantly honed his skills, developing into a pioneer of this genre.
The new track features well placed synths and rhythms that create a chilling atmosphere of suspense; featuring dark drones, glitching textures, distorted percussion and a sense of pending doom, with just a glimmer of hope.
