Single: “Weekend With Benny” by Nory-J
Dorset-based artist Nory-J continues to build momentum, having already amassed over 85,000 streams on Spotify through his steady release of original music. Now, he returns with what he confidently describes as his finest work to date — a new single titled “Weekend With Benny.”
Performing under the Nory-J moniker, musician Jack Spooner explains the heart behind the track: “It’s an anthem for the exhausted — the people working 9–5’s who feel overtired, overworked and underpaid, spending each week just waiting for the weekend to make it all better.”
The track was brought to life with the help of Oxfordshire-based producer Rhys Fletcher, whose creative input played a key role in shaping the song’s final sound.

Staying true to his artistic ethos of never repeating the same style, Nory-J once again explores a fresh sonic direction. “Weekend With Benny” blends elements of Indie/Pop, bedroom Pop, Dream/Pop and Synth/Pop into a vibrant, summery soundscape. It opens with subtle keys and crisp percussion before Spooner’s vocals enter, soon accompanied by bright, melodic guitar lines that carry the track forward.
His vocals — rich, smooth and instantly accessible — give the song a radio-friendly appeal, while its uplifting tone delivers a relatable message to anyone “living for the weekend”: hang in there.
Nory-J’s continued evolution as an artist highlights his dedication to crafting original, engaging music for his growing audience.
To celebrate the release, Nory-J will be performing a pair of shows in Southampton, including appearances at “God’s House Tower” and a Battle of the Bands event at St Mary’s Stadium, where he’ll also feature on a support slot alongside McFly.
