Single: “Lillies” by Siobhán Clarke
Siobhán Clarke of Siobhán & Sunset Haze has an extra special reason for releasing her latest single, “Lillies”. The singer-songwriter is set to marry on 6th June, and the song has been written for the couple’s first dance. Siobhán’s husband-to-be, Nate, is also the bass player in the band — because what would a wedding between two musicians be without a cheeky bit of self-promotion?

Siobhán explains:
“I wrote this song as a very personal track to my soon-to-be husband, Nate. It’s a pure and simple love song to most, but to us, it’s so much more than that. We’ve been together since 2021, after being good friends for four years prior, spending almost a decade in each other’s lives. Just after we got engaged in 2023, I fell ill, and it was an incredibly dark time, but he stayed. He supported me so much in my recovery, and this was my way of saying thank you for showing me the meaning of unconditional love — that it can be soft and strong when needed.”
The track was recorded at HP Studios in Ringwood and is due for release on 5th June — just one day before the wedding.
Blending country and folk influences, “Lillies” carries a warm, heartfelt charm. Siobhán’s euphonic vocals deliver the deeply personal lyrics with emotional intensity, and at times her tone recalls the late Dolores O’Riordan, conveying feelings that seem to come straight from the heart.
The understated instrumentation — featuring acoustic guitar, strings, piano, violin, and simple but effective rhythms — provides a beautiful backdrop to the lyrics. Meanwhile, the atmospheric electric guitar solo is a standout moment, adding another layer of emotion and helping to elevate the spirit of the track as a whole.
Heartfelt, intimate, and steeped in genuine emotion, “Lillies” is not only a beautiful single but a love story set to music.
