The Bear Cave, Bournemouth
The Anvil, Bournemouth Having only seen In The Hills once before, who were struggling through a set fraught with technical difficulties, I was pleased to get the chance to see them again so soon. As before, their heavy, sludge rock drew me in with its trance like rhythm infused with great riffs and break downs.
Sound Circus, Bournemouth Oh my. Sometimes, just sometimes, I go to a gig that is so good that all I want to write is “THAT WAS SO GOOD”, because I know that my clumsy attempts to manipulate the English language in such a manner in which to describe it to you will not do it […] ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Chaplins, Cellar Bar, Boscombe The sun had been shining all day and perhaps everyone had been enjoying themselves so much that they lost track of time as things kicked off a little later than planned. As the Cellar Bar is one of my favourite places to watch live music I certainly didn’t mind the wait.
O2 Academy, Bournemouth I came away from tonight’s show wishing that I had grown up in the 70’s, owned a leather jacket and had a perm. Mr Kyps, Poole I’m guessing that for a few people, tonight was a night for reminiscing, with Wheatus being one of those feel good bands whose most popular tracks such as Teenage Dirtbag were released over 10 years ago. I Am Freddie Mays are a 5 piece outfit from Bournemouth and Southampton who started kicking ideas about back in November 2010, before coming together in February of this year to form the current band. The line up consists of vocalist Danger, bassist Mike, guitarists Mart and Alex and drummer Crackerz and this is their […] ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
The Joiners Arms, Southampton My evening did not get off to a good start, as I managed to get lost walking from the train station to the Joiners, but never mind, my mood rapidly improved when I arrived, mainly thanks to the first band on who were called er…
The Joiners, Southampton This was my first visit to the Joiners in Southampton and I instantly fell in love with the place. The sound was good, the stage and lighting set up was great and it was well laid out, it is clear why many big names come and play here in the early days […] ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Weymouth Pavilion Sepultura announce surprise date in… Weymouth?! That’s definitely a surprise. Weymouth is not a place exactly notorious for its thriving music scene, though all that looks like it could change with Hourglass Promotions having recently announced some pretty big shows at the Pavilion, this one included. I have never been to the Pavilion […] ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
