HAWXX are a four-piece Rock band featuring Anna, Hannah, Jessica and Iman. Originally hailing from Greece, Wales, England and Bahrain; they founded the band in Wandsworth, South London in 2018. They bonded over funny voices, feminism, booze, knitting, metal and rock music. In 2018 the multicultural band of sisters started 2018 writing songs, crafting their own sound and gigging at a host of venues across the Country.

The band caught the attention of renowned producer Larry Hibbitt who has worked with such names as Hundred Reasons, Marmozets and Nothing but Thieves. Larry agreed to produce the band’s debut single and wanted to bring the best out of the bandís heavy rock-based live sound. The single “Love’s A Bitch” is released on February 14th 2019 and it delivers an anti-Valentine’s day anthem. The band explained that the track is about an all-or-nothing attitude to love and the fight to connect with those we love. The songís verses display our vulnerability, while the chaotic choruses declare power-play and passion: ìthe dogs of love, fight to the deathî.

The single is a mammoth slice of powerful rock and for a debut it shows this ambitious band mean business. It features some well-arranged musicianship, with plenty of great influences the girls gained while working as session musicians. Their no-nonsense approach is full of attitude and the band aim to shake up the predominantly male-dominated rock and metal scene. There are some highly original guitar riffs with Anna and Hannah combining to create a huge wall of creative noise. This combines with the rib-crushing rhythms of Iman on bass along with Jessica’s earth-shaking drum patterns. A truly inspiring debut and one that should gain the girls some positive momentum.
