Summoners

Porstmouth four-piece hard rock band ‘Summoners’ have recently released their debut single “Demons”. The band members have all been best friends since meeting in school and college. They have been in separate bands in the past that have not played music that was quite representative of their tastes. However, the coming together of the quartet around two years ago was like a spark that ignited their desire to play the music they love: heavy, dirty, riffy rock.

They kicked off this year playing at their local Icebreaker Festival in Southsea with plenty of other events booked, which were all sadly halted due to the coronavirus pandemic. They have instead started focusing on writing and demoing new material in preparation of recording their debut EP.

Summoners

‘Demons’ is a fast paced, hard-hitting wall of sound that would be capable of generating a considerable moshpit instantly. It features a host of influences from many areas of the hard rock spectrum, without sounding like anyone in particular. There is a non-stop driving riff which is backed by powerful creative rhythms; coupled with a well-delivered vocal full of exasperation, musing about the frustration of all the lost time we have all had to endure. The track has been generated by the band on a completely DIY basis, with all the recording and production completed by themselves. A decent start from a band who look set to race from the traps of this pandemic once it’s finally over.
