Dorset favourites Skimmity Hitchers have announced the release of a brand new studio album this summer. “The Revolution Will Not Be Pasteurised” will be launched at a sold-out gig at Cerne Abbas Brewery on Saturday 5th June, and will be available to order from the band’s website the following week as a CD or download.

The Skimmity boys have become firm favourites across the West Country and beyond over the last 10 years, famous for their raucous and spontaneous live shows and love of real cider. The new album promises 11 new tracks of Scrumpy & Western classics, a combination of razor-sharp parodies and home pressed original material. Expect themes such as rural life, failed relationships, scary local boozers and Weymouth stag nights to feature alongside homages to their beloved cider.

Frontman and lead cider imbiber Tatty Smart explained “The last year has been very difficult for obvious reasons, and we’ve massively missed playing live gigs and bringing fun times to people. But instead of sitting around scratching our badgers, we’ve knuckled down to write and record a new album. We’re really excited about it, it’s definitely our best one yet, and we can’t wait to get back to normal life with a bagful of new tunes to play outlive.”

The band’s following gig will be at the Komedia venue in Bath on Sunday 20th June and a small number of tickets are still available online. For more information on the new album and upcoming gigs, click here.
