West Bay Fields, nr Broomhill Farm, Bridport

The show will go on as popular community music event, Jurassic Fields Festival has been saved from certain closure. The three-day live music show at West Bay Fields, near Bridport, will go ahead over the weekend of Friday 8 to Sunday 10 August with a full bill of chart topping headline acts confirmed including Reef, Space, Republica, Toploader, Artful Dodger and the welcome return of hit band The Hoosiers who didn’t perform in 2023 due to bad weather.

The festival has been bought by Dorset-based company Immense Events and Bars Ltd, who have run the successful Poole Harbour Festival for ten years, as well as events at other venues including Upton Country Park and Poole Quay. “Having attended Jurassic Fields several times in recent years, I know how important the festival is and that it’s a much-loved part of West Dorset’s vibrant live music scene,” says Immense MD Ben Dyas.

“So many festivals have folded over the last couple of years so when we heard Jurassic Fields was facing the end of the road we just had to step in and save it. We’ve booked some phenomenal bands to headline, as well as top DJs including Brandon Block, Nicky Blackmarket and Jaguar Skills, with some of the best UK tribute bands to ensure a broad appeal to as wide an audience as possible.

“We’ve also saved lots of slots on the bill for local bands, artists and DJs – so local music will still be at the heart of Jurassic Fields, and we want to hear from anyone who wants to play.”

Bands, singers and DJs who would like to be considered for a place on the bill at the reinvigorated Jurassic Fields should contact info@jurassicfieldsfestival.com.

“We really wanted to re-engage with local music lovers and make the festival accessible to everyone,” adds Ben. “That’s why we have greatly reduced ticket prices, introduced discounted family tickets and brought in loads more kids’ entertainment – Jurassic Fields will have music for all the family. It will be the live music event of the year!”

A free shuttle bus will transport local festival goers from Bridport, Bradpole and Bothenhampton to the festival site at West Bay Fields where on-site camping is also available.
