A quick drive down the motorway to get the first gig of the New Year under by belt. Tonight’s choice gig is at The Edge of the Wedge, a nifty named little bar next to The Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth. With tonight’s entertainment being provided by young rockers Velvetine. Support by Belligerence and Bournemouth’s very own Western Sand. So, a nice heavy start to the year.

On the 8th August 2008 Chris, Andy, Rus and Scotty all only in their early teens entered a rehearsal room and performed the Guns ‘n Roses song “Welcome To The Jungle” for the very first time as a band together, this rehearsal spurned not one but two bands the first “Colt 45” a band who performed hundreds of gigs in pubs, clubs and at big outdoor festivals thrilling audiences with rock classics.

The great thing about the Christmas holiday season is that with a lot of Universities, Schools and businesses close down for a couple of weeks, it gives people get the chance to join together without these such restraints. Minor Characters played their 1st gig ever at Chaplin’s Cellar Bar back in August after release their debut album “First”, they showed how well the great songs from this album come across live, tonight the band reform once again for a special “one off” Christmas show.
