Pip Hancox has put together a cracking album. The underlying sound and feel is one of psychobilly, which is no surprise coming from the frontman of Guana Batz. Bursting out of Bristol, although orignally hailing from South Wales, come “The Action Plan” with their debut album “Never Say Die”, due for release on the 10th December.
With an interesting blend of electronic and alt-rock you get Broken Links. based in Southampton this three piece have a fullly rounded and unique sound.
The eponymously titled mini-album by the Mersyside quartet is due to hit the stores on the 7th January, and is well worth looking out for. Old school metal. New school vocals. Noodling. Riffage. Pounding drums. Storming stuff.
All the way over in Austin Texas comes the second album by “My Jerusalem”, pushing what they describe as “Post-Modern Southern Gothic Soul” in the form of “Preachers”.
Bleak Falls have a 6 track EP due out on December 10th. Being described as the Deftones and Cancer Bats having a bar fight to Nirvana pumping out over the jukebox – you’ll get the picture! Coming from Sussex this quintet have a formiddable sound, and the EP backs this up.
“Five Pounds” delivers 6 tracks of raw energy without compromise, laying down the law. Hitchcock Blonde are the re-incarnation of Avenge Vulture Attack, having evolved from their punk rock to a more rocking sound, albeit slightly less aggressive. This London based four piece are carving out their own brand of indie punk rock.
Coming out of London, and about to release their second single are Terminal Gods. Who describe themselves as having been touting their high energy, heavy leather, drum machine driven hard rock across the UK. Seeking to harmonise their primary influences of dark, dramatic post-punk with ruthless, brazen rock and roll. A combination which is strongly […] ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
