All the way over in Austin Texas comes the second album by “My Jerusalem”, pushing what they describe as “Post-Modern Southern Gothic Soul” in the form of “Preachers”.
Bleak Falls have a 6 track EP due out on December 10th. Being described as the Deftones and Cancer Bats having a bar fight to Nirvana pumping out over the jukebox – you’ll get the picture! Coming from Sussex this quintet have a formiddable sound, and the EP backs this up.
Right from its start Salisbury band Castellan’s debut record “Feeding Tube” grips its listener aggressively, a hold that it keeps up until its last moments. The Anvil, Bournemouth Voodoo Pistols, Mother Corona, Skeleton, In The Hills, Grifter, Trippy Tonight saw the third Venomfest at The Anvil, boasting “Bournemouth’s ONLY stoner, doom and heavy groove gatherings”.
On The Rocks, Bournemouth So once again in as many weeks it’s Friday night and it is back to On The Rocks for a high energy night of music, tonight’s headliners are Bristol’s Ashestoangels who regularly stop off here in Bournemouth as part of their never ending tour.
Talking Heads, Southampton Western Sand started up the evening with a short but punchy set, beginning with “Better Days” they set out their stall as the Southern Rock band that they are, albeit it with a Brit twist.
One of Hampshire’s best loved live bands Lady Winwood’s Maggot popped into the Hope Fm studio for a bit of mayhem and to chat about their new album “The Rise Of Karaoke & The Death Of Rock ‘n’ Roll’.
