A little while back we did a preview/mini review of “Hats Off Gentlemen, It’s Adequate” EP “It’s Me Again”, they have just released their debut EP “Frail Hurricane”.
Near Light have a new self-titled EP recently released. This 4 piece from Bournemouth describe themselves as “post rock” – now I am never to sure what “post” means when tagged on a genre. I assume it means newer, not quite the same, something has progressed, moved on, or evolved.
Upbeat Allstars are a girl Fronted Skate-Ska/Punk band from the Southwest of the UK. With songs focused on pure energy, hooks and a no-b/s attitude, the Upbeat Allstars are set to tear venues a new hole….
Where to start? These Northern chaps won “Best Band” Award & “Best Song” Award in the Cumbria Music Awards in December 2009, and now they have released “Times Of Conflict”. Bursting out of Yorkshire comes Velvet Star with their latest EP “All Or Nothing”. Formed back in 2007 this quintet are not about to take prisoners in their wake with this EP. Describing themselves as “sort of Glam/Punk but essentially just good rock”.

Opening with the rich velvety vocals of Melany these Essex based alternative rockers serve up their latest offering in the form of two tracks, under the banner of “Addiction of Duplicties, part 1”. Formed in 2003 the band easily fit into the alternative rock category, but are more than that.
