I have been sat on this CD for a few weeks now. It’s been played, and it’s been considered. The Ghosts have produced a debut album that is layered and complex, in a number of ways. But is also, and not wanting to contradict myself, is also simple and effective without being pretentious.
Mr. Kyps, Poole As the clock hit 20:30 Blazin’ Aces hit the stage with both barrels blazing! With a barrage of drums and bass making you stand up and pay attention! They certainly had a small force of fans in attendance that enjoyed their set. Formed in February 2012 by the members of Shadowkey after […] ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Kingsnake is the latest solo offering from Russ Diapper, and he appears to show no signs of taking it easy! This is his second solo album, following on from his successful “No Cure for Curiosity”. This album is just as “bluesy” than “No Cure For Curiosity”, but sticks to Russ’s hard rock principles, easily showing […] ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Emerging from the group X-Teller, Hundred Days from Yeovil have emerged with the album “Mission Exodus” pushing their brand of hard rock, as they describe themselves mixing “classic rock, high drama, and fun”. For a short while now “G String Fully Loaded” has been floating about Rock-Regeneration, waiting for words to be written. Opening with the overly catchy, exceedingly poppy but effective, “Memphis”. Arriving at Rock Regeneration a week or so ago came “New Season”, with a little note hoping that we enjoy it. A nice start to the day. Mind you, it is always with a little fear I listen to unknown [to me] artists. What if I don’t like it? What if I think it misses […] ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Coming soon to the Bournemouth Folk Festival are Holika. They met in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, when Dorian and Ben were in their final year at sixth form, and Tori, just about to start. They came together through a mutual love of making ‘selfish’ music. By this, what they were interested in, was making music that […] ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
We have been lucky to get an early copy of the album “Entertainment On Foreign Grounds” by the London based Straylings. Now I listen to a wide range of music, but it has taken ages to put this, albeit short, review together. Why? I just can’t put my finger on what continually draws me back […] ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Rising from their previous incarnation, “The Gubbins”, Dead Shed Jokers have produced a mighty album with “Peyote Smile”, producing a retro sound, which seems to come directly form the 70’s, yet timeless. With plenty of attitude, and energy – yet a feeling of fun.
