SjW

One of the joys of running a music web-site is you get music! (watch me join the dots here!) Sometimes too much lands on your desk, and it is hard to get through it all. Sometimes you get good, and sometimes you get bad. Thankfully here at RockRegen, we get more good than bad! So here we have “Moments of Magnitude” the third release by SjW, who hail from London, driven by Simon White who is also the songwriter and lyricist for the group.

Eden In Vain

So, my long awaited (I wish) return to reviewing has finally come. After being tied down this Summer playing 41 shows with my band Willowen, I thought it was time to put fingers to keyboard once more. On my return, I have decided to shed some light on the upcoming release by Portsmouth based, metal laced (that rhymed) hardcore outfit, Eden In Vain.

Minaret

Dark clouds heavy with rain yet to fall loomed large in the distance as the Knight staggered forward. The sounds of the (once raging) battle were now reduced to wails of men dying and were steadily growing fainter with each pain filled step he took. Blood was steadily seeping through his chainmail when his legs suddenly gave out and he fell, face first on to the sand. With a supreme effort he rolled himself over and gazed at the ramparts above him.

Trash Monroe

Opening with the rich velvety vocals of Melany these Essex based alternative rockers serve up their latest offering in the form of two tracks, under the banner of “Addiction of Duplicties, part 1”. Formed in 2003 the band easily fit into the alternative rock category, but are more than that.

Katrin The Thrill

From Greece comes Katerina Panopoulou with her album “Evil Eye Charm”, a dark collection of songs for which a lost or a love out of reach, perhaps even forbidden, is the predominant theme. The album has had a struggle to see the light of day with the final production, and release being funded by fans. But thankfully it’s here!

The Monks Of Mellonwah

Neurogenesis is the latest offering from the four piece known as the “Monks of Mellonwah” who hail from down under, specifically Sydney. With a unique blend of alternative rock this EP is a powerful but easy flowing journey. This is the first I have heard of “The Monks”, and it is great introduction. I have not had chance to listen to their first EP, but this 4 track EP (the EP closes with a 5 track which is radio edit of the title track) is a superb introduction to their work.

Muscliff Music Festival

Featuring : Peace, Love & Gloves,Recreation Band, Blazin’ Aces, Brothers Grimmer, Adam ‘Yeti’ Phillips, Deaf By 4, and more

Saturday 8th September saw the launch of yet another great community Festival in Bournemouth the “Muscliff Family Music Festival” situated in Muscliff Park an excellent well kept bit of green belt land amongst a large housing estate on the outskirts of Bournemouth. The event was planned for earlier in the summer but due to the appalling wet weather it has to be cancelled, there is no such problem this time as the sun was out with plenty of blue skies.
